Ramsey Kukalis
Vice President
Ramsey Kukalis specializes in the valuation of businesses and business interests for various purposes including transaction and management planning, fairness and solvency opinions, gift and estate tax, transfer pricing, employee stock ownership plans, and financial reporting. Mr. Kukalis has conducted valuations for domestic and international private, public, and portfolio companies in numerous industries, including but not limited to biotech, consumer products, telecommunications, industrial manufacturing, technology, and financial institutions.
Mr. Kukalis has extensive experience conducting portfolio valuations for large private credit and private equity funds and purchase price accounting (ASC 805) for private equity take private deals and large mergers. He has assisted in the portfolio valuation of an $8.0 billion private credit fund, the purchase price allocation of a $5.9 billion take private of a real estate data and analytics company, and the purchase price allocation of a $5.6 billion acquisition of an international insurance broker dealer.
Prior to joining BVA, Mr. Kukalis was a Senior II in the Strategy & Transactions service line on the Quantitative Finance & Economics team of Ernst & Young, LLP, where he specialized in the valuation of illiquid complex securities (ASC 820), certifying industry peer reports for audit teams and analyzing incremental borrowing rates, convertible notes, derivatives, restricted stock units, and equity based executive compensation for large public, private, and portfolio companies.
Preceding that, Mr. Kukalis was a Senior Associate/Manager of valuation at Globalview Advisors, where he conducted the valuation of illiquid complex securities, common stock valuations, and purchase price allocations. Prior to that, he was a Valuation Associate at Caliber Advisors, where he conducted portfolio valuation, common stock valuations, and purchase price allocations.
Mr. Kukalis received a Bachelor of Arts in International Business from the University of California San Diego where he graduated with honors. He is currently an ASA candidate.
