Myles McCormack

Senior Vice President
Myles McCormack is responsible for overseeing the execution of a variety of litigation consulting engagements related to intellectual property, economic damages, and business value matters.
Mr. McCormack has extensive experience evaluating economic damages in a variety of business contexts, including patent infringement, trademark infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract, tortious interference, breach of fiduciary duty, and fraud. Mr. McCormack has evaluated lost profits and/or reasonable royalty damages in multiple patent infringement disputes involving technology covering a variety of industries, including consumer electronics, telecom, oilfield services, manufacturing, website and database architecture, and others. Additionally, Mr. McCormack has evaluated lost profits, unjust enrichment, diminution of business value, reasonable royalty, and other measures of damages in intellectual property disputes. Mr. McCormack assisted with the authoring and editing of the Forensic & Valuation Services Practice Aid, Calculating Intellectual Property Infringement Damages, published by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Mr. McCormack has also evaluated issues related to U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission inquiries and enforcement actions, criminal fraud matters, and shareholder litigation such as revenue recognition, business combinations involving preexisting contractual relationships, adequacy of the reserve for uncollectible accounts, liability accruals, alleged round-tripping, and gross vs. net reporting. Additionally, Mr. McCormack has performed financial forensic investigations related to allegations of misappropriation of assets, self-dealing, and violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Mr. McCormack is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)* licensed in the state of Texas and has also earned the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credential from the AICPA. Before joining BVA, Mr. McCormack was a Director at AlixPartners. Prior to that, he was a Senior Associate in KPMG’s audit and advisory practice.
Mr. McCormack graduated Summa Cum Laude from Abilene Christian University where he earned a Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting/Finance.
