Stephen Jaquess

Stephen Jaquess is responsible for overseeing and executing a variety of engagements related to economic damages, securities analyses, antitrust, restructuring, insolvency, financial markets, and valuation disputes.
Mr. Jaquess has considerable experience in areas including:
- Damages quantification in complex contract disputes;
- Measuring business interruption claims and/or lost profits;
- Assessing and identifying alleged collusive activity and monopolization;
- Calculating economic damages resulting from misappropriation of trade secrets;
- Evaluating and analyzing credit rating practices;
- Constructing event studies and financial models to measure share price artificiality in relation to 10b-5 securities class actions;
- Developing cash flow models and loan-level analyses relating to residential mortgage-backed securities;
- Providing solvency and capital adequacy analyses in bankruptcy adversarial proceedings;
- Negotiating with creditors and other interested parties in Chapter 11 proceedings; and
- Forming and implementing plans of reorganization.
Through his work, he has become a trusted advisor to his clients and frequently provides consulting services in litigation discovery, testimony, and trial-preparation processes.
Mr. Jaquess has worked on numerous national and international engagements with alleged damages ranging from millions to tens of billions of dollars in a diverse range of industries including telecommunications, banking, financial services, petrochemical/energy, manufacturing, distribution, avionics, and healthcare, among others. He has operated on numerous restructuring engagements providing both out-of-court solutions as well as plan development, vote solicitation, and implementation of court-approved plans of reorganization.
Mr. Jaquess received a Master in Professional Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Honors and Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with honors. He was a recipient of the Dean’s Award and is both a Sommerfield and National Merit Scholar. Mr. Jaquess is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
